Aromatherapy – Top 10 Blends For Everyday Use

Aromatherapy can be applied in everyday life. It can be used to relieve emotional stresses like anxiety, depression, anger and grief as well as physical ailments like pain from arthritis and menstruation as well as bacterial, fungal and viral infections and inflammations.

Menstrual Crams Reliever

Nasal Decongestant Blend

Putting diluted amounts directly on your skin or body is good for absorption. When massaging these oils into your skin they need to be diluted with a carrier oil, since they are so concentrated

When purchasing oils be very careful. Almost all essential oils are easily available. Make sure that when purchasing you know the difference between the quality of the oils.

Here are some tips that may be helpful when you start looking to purchase oils:

1) Make sure that you are able to check out the oil.

2) Make sure there are no terms such as fragrance oils or nature identical oils, these ingredients are not essential oils.

3) If the bottle looks to be old, do not buy it.

It may not produce the desired medicinal effects.

4) Essential oils are normally sold in dark bottles to keep out the damaging effects of sunlight.

Do not buy these oils if they are being sold in clear bottles.

5) Avoid essential oils being sold in plastic containers, because the oils actually dissolve the plastic contaminating it.

This is wrong! All essential oils need to be diluted. Yes, even Lavender and Tea Tree should be diluted because some people are extremely sensitive and we do not want to cause any harm to any individual.

3) By studying only the websites on the Internet you may end up with gaps in your learning. Without following a set of standards on what you should know when using aromatherapy you will not be able to make your own aromatherapy treatments based on proven knowledge.

The Pros of Taking Aromatherapy Courses :

1) You will be led, step by step on how to use essential oils safely and effectively.
2) If you choose your teacher wisely then you will be following a set of standards set forth by the varying aromatherapy associations.
3) You will know that you are following the specific guidelines set up so that you are not causing harm to those you wish to make aromatherapy treatments for.
4) Your eventual clients will consider you knowledgeable and be more inclined to buy from you rather than someone who says that they are self-taught.

This is a disease of pigs which is caused by the type A influenza strain. This virus was first detected in 1930.

The Swine Flu changes constantly by combining with various other viruses which creates new strains. These new strains, mainly the H1N1, can infect humans. Most human cases occur because of direct contact with infected pigs. Once a human has contracted the Swine Flu direct exposure to this person can rapidly spread this virus. This virus rarely occurs in humans but once contracted the rapidity of the virus spreading after contact with the infected person is quite alarming.

There are many symptoms of Swine Flu that could be very easily confused as being a part of another illness. These symptoms and regular influenza overlap for the most part. It can be quite confusing to recognize which type of influence that you have come down with.

That is why extreme caution is being urged including going to the doctor at the first signs of flu like symptoms.

Lavender – is the “must-have” essential oil. It is highly regarded for its skin healing properties and excellent for general soothing and calming.

If you only have one bottle of essential oil in your home – Lavender should be it!

  • Inhale lavender for an overall calming effect.
  • Rub a few drops on sunburnt skin to ease pain.
  • Rub a drop on your palms and breathe in deeply to help with hay fever.
  • 2-3 drops on a rash will stop itching and heal your skin.
  • Drop lavender on a cut to stop the bleeding and speed healing.

Peppermint – is one of the most effective essential oils for treating digestive ailments such as flatulence, slow digestion and heartburn.

  • Rub a few drops on your abdomen to relieve nausea, indigestion, gas pains, and diarrhoea.
  • Massage several drops into the soles of your feet to reduce a fever.
  • If you suffer infection from arthritis, sprains, strains and bruising – rub 2 -3 drops of peppermint on the affected areas.
  • Mix a drop in a gallon of water for drinking to cool off on a hot day.
  • To deter ants, cockroaches, mice and rats, place two drops of peppermint on cotton wool and place along the path or point of entry.

Lemon – Citrus oils have long been used for their calming and balancing actions. Lemon has antiseptic properties and contains compounds that have been studied for their effects on immune function. It is also commonly used in weight loss and cellulite reduction.

  • Rub a drop on your hands after using a public restroom.
  • Add a few drops of lemon essential oil to cleaning water, especially if you have pets.
  • Put a drop on oily skin or acne to balance sebaceous glands (oil glands).
  • To clean and preserve fresh fruit, add 2-3 drops of lemon oil to a bowl of cool water. Drop the clean fruit into the water and stir. Be sure all surfaces come into contact with the lemon water. Do not rinse.
  • Put 1-2 drops in your glass of drinking water to purify it and alkalize your body.
  • Rub several drops on varicose veins to improve circulation and relieve pressure on the veins.

    Hot Versus Cold – Essential Oils Can Help With Hormone Imbalance

    What is a hormone? Our bodies naturally produce lots of different chemical messengers that travel by way of the blood stream to all parts of the body to stimulate either either increase or decrease of some bodily function or to tell other glands to increase or decrease secretion of another hormone. So, hormones are in the business of either up-regulating or down-regulating activity in the body. It does not take much hormone to alter cell metabolism. We have two dominant female hormones-estrogen and progesterone. Estrogen ensures the development of female characteristics at puberty. After this, its role is primarily to build the uterine lining each month prior to fertilization as well as to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Progesterone becomes important in maintaining the uterine lining for implantation of a fertilized egg. There is a poor balancing act between these two hormones.

Menopause literally means “last period” and occurs somewhere between the ages of 45 to 52 with the cessation of egg production in the ovaries.

Hormone balance is your body's natural state but when there are too many demands on your body, its ability to balance hormones is overwhelmed.
