I recently came across a luxury hand and body lotion in my bathroom. I opened the bottle and smelled the lotion. I immediately sneezed about 10 times. I use aromatherapy products now and was curious as to what would make me sneeze so much.

I read the ingredients on the bottle of the hand and body lotion and found that it contained Glyceryl Stearate and Sodium PCA. Upon researching these two ingredients, I found that they both cause skin reactions and / or severe allergic reactions. I believe my sneezing to be an allergy to Glyceryl Stearate and Sodium PCA.

Since I am a believer in Aromatherapy and use it religiously, I walk away my store bought hand and body lotion and started to make my own. All I did was purchase some unscented, organic hand and body lotion along with some empty one ounce bottles. Just mix in about 12 drops of lavender essential oil to one ounce of unscented, organic hand and bottle lotion, shake it up and you're done!

The reason I chose lavender essential oil is because it is the most versatile of all essential oils and is valuable for all skin types and conditions. The most important reason to use lavender essential oil is it actually increases the growth of new skin cells. When you use lavender oil, it's not only great for your skin, it also has other natural healing properties. It's great for insect bites, burns, abrasions, coughs, colds and flu.

Making your own hand and body lotion using lavender essential oil is not only fun, it is cost effective. It also gives you a sense of accomplishment that you made it yourself! You will find that it leaves your skin feeling new and wonderful. It smells fantastic as well.
